Katherine Etzel grew up in small town in Iowa. She left to do some music in Florida, tooling around with some small time bands and rocking out. She went to LA and worked some corporate jobs and did some studio session work too. She loves to play baseball and charades, and has a brindle boxer mix named Gertie that everyone thinks is a pit bull, which works well when walking her late at night.

Katherine resisted her country leanings most of her life. Her latent love of the Flying Burrito Brothers, Emmy Lou Harris and Gene Clark helped bring her back to the light. She started playing with Sweet William in spring of 2004 after relocating from LA to New York City.
